Waterproof test

Most Waferlock electronic locks meet the high water and dust protection rating – IP68. This means that they can be installed in particularly difficult conditions – in rain and in very dusty areas. IP68 means that the device is impervious to dust and can be submerged in water for some time.

But a certificate is one thing, real life is another. How does the Waferlock C760 electronic cylinder react to immersion in water? We tried a simple test.

Of course, such ‘home tests’ are no substitute for real certification tests; of course Waferlock locks have been tested to the IEC60529 standard. But it can be important for someone to see a real lock in the real world.
